Why getting your bike serviced is crucial for the Noosa Classic

The build-up to the 2019 Noosa Classic Gran Fondo cycling event has us pretty excited and we’ve been bringing you hot tips, Noosa sneak peeks and news from our partners.

But one thing we haven’t talked about is the all-important bike service.

Much like the automobile, a bike service is something that quite often gets avoided or forgotten despite its essential nature.

Make no mistake, it’s vital everyone registered for Noosa put their beloved bike in for a check-up. While we have our fingers and toes crossed for perfect weather you never know what the day will bring and if we see a repeat of last year’s rainy conditions, all the more reason to have your bike in top shape.

Obviously if you ride a lot you should have it serviced regularly but for those who haven’t ridden for a while or who have a special Gran Fondo machine this rule also applies to you.

Make sure the brakes are in working order, the frame is clean, the wheels are in working order, the tyres have enough wear left and as a general rule of thumb, ensure everything is tightened.

You can do one yourself if you have all the right tools and know-how but we recommend taking it into a bike shop just to be safe.

For anyone in the Noosa region or who are heading up early, Le Cyclosportif offer a wide range of servicing options.
